DES MOINES, Iowa - Des Moines police say James "Chief" Galbo, 56, is responsible for setting a fire at Lighthouse Full Gospel Baptist Church on Friday.

Firefighters arrived around 3:30 p.m. at 1600 E Capitol Ave to find Deagelow Dudley, a man who was living at the church, trapped inside.

Dudley told KCCI there was fire at every exit.

"By the time I get to the front door there is already flames gushing out," he said. "I immediately run to the back door to get downstairs but there was already flames at the back door."

Dudley was able to signal firefighters, who pulled him out of a second-story window. He was uninjured.

Galbo was seen loitering near the scene. He was questioned and later charged with first-degree arson.
