IOWA CITY, Iowa - Another rush of last-minute shoppers are signing up for healthcare through the federal website on the last day to sign up for Obamacare, sort of.
As long as people get a start on the sign-up process they wont be penalized. Although they're strongly encouraged to fully get signed up by midnight, should they run into website glitches, they'll be granted a second chance.
Those people will be given a week extension.
University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics officials have set up three enrollment centers to help people sign-up locally. The centers offer in-person and over-the-phone help.
Earlier today a rush of online shoppers temporarily shut-down the enrollment website. Officials say the best time to sign-up is after business hours.
