Allamakee County Murder Conviction Upheld
ALLAMAKEE COUNTY, Iowa -- The Iowa Supreme Court upheld the second-degree murder conviction of an Allamakee County man who shot his girlfriend during a fight.
Christopher Thompson was convicted of killing 40-year-old Angela Gabel in 2010.
Thompson appealed, claiming the judge erred in not admitting mental health evidence or instructing the jury they could convict Thompson on a lesser charge. The Iowa Supreme Court ruled the court did to violate any rules and upheld Thompson's conviction.
