DES MOINES (AP) - Six people, including four high school
students, were arrested yesterday while protesting the Iraq war at
Senator Charles Grassley's Des Moines office.

The protesters, arrested for trespassing, submitted a letter to
the Republican asking him to vote against more funding for the war. They sat in a circle for almost an hour after the office
officially closed at 5 p.m., asking to hear from Grassley, who his
aides said was traveling elsewhere in Iowa.

Two police officers arrested the peace activists, who were
booked at the jail and released.

Amanda Hicks, 17, says her dad tried to stop her
from coming but she came anyway to protest the war.

Beth Levine, a Grassley spokeswoman, says Grassley will review
their letter on Monday when he returns to Washington, D.C. She said, "Senator Grassley is looking for the best way possible to draw down the U.S. commitment as quickly as possible while also looking out for U.S. interests and security in the long term.''
