Linn County Inmate Released To Find Job Doesn’t Return

CEDAR RAPIDS – Authorities are on the look out for an inmate who was released from jail to look for a job and didn’t return.

Joshua McCool, 20, was serving 90 days at the Linn County Jail for a probation violation. He started his sentence June 22, but he was granted work release by the court.

He was released Monday at 9 a.m. to find a job, and was required to return at 3 p.m., but he did not come back, authorities said. McCool now faces an escape charge.

McCool is described as a black male, 5-foot-11 and 162 pounds. He address is listed as 3701 16th Ave. SW, Lot 41.

Anyone with information about McCool’s whereabouts is asked to call the Linn County sheriff’s office at (319) 892-6100.
