New Recycling Center Coming to Iowa City's East Side2401 Scott Boulevard SE
IOWA CITY - Recycling is getting easier to do in Iowa City, especially if you live on the east side.
City leaders broke ground Tuesday on a new recycling center just off Scott Boulevard. The three point seven million dollar facility will be a place to drop off unwanted furniture or pick up mulch. "This is an important project - especially for the east side of Iowa City. Right now there isn't a good outlet for recycling and also for picking up recycled materials like compost and wood chips and that sort of thing so this will put in place a very good facility for that," said Rick Fosse, City Engineer. This recycling center will also host several non-profit organizations and will have an environmental education center. It is set to open up next summer. ICGov.org More Good Stuff |
