One Driver Seriously Hurt in Two-Semi Crash in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY -- We're learning more about a serious crash on Highway 30 in Tama County.

It happened just west of Highway 21 around 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

The Iowa State Patrol reports two semis collided after one tried to slow down for a deer.

48-year old Dennis Roster of Aplington was sent to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo with serious injuries. Authorities say the other driver refused medical attention.

The Iowa State Patrol had to close off a portion of highway 30 near the Tama and Benton County line. The highway is now open again.
