CEDAR RAPIDS - Annie Mae Murphy was arrested on prostitution charges after she flagged down an unmarked police car early Thursday and offered its occupants sex for money, police said.
The officers were driving through the alley between the 1300 blocks of First and Second avenues SE a few minutes after midnight when Murphy, 43, flagged them down, police Sgt, Cristy Hamblin said. After she offered “her services in a sexual act for $20,” she was arrested, according to the complaint.
Murphy, who didn’t list an address, remains at the Linn County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bond. She has previous convictions on drug, forgery, and domestic assault charges in Linn County.
