CEDAR RAPIDS -- Police now say a pickup that ended up in the Cedar River was stolen.

Police first got word of the submerged vehicle shortly before 1 a.m. It was found near the roller dam close to Old River Road SW.

Police shut down the road for some time after the truck was found. Lt. Ken Washburn said the truck was determined to be stolen.

The heavily damaged truck was pulled from the water. Police say no one was inside, and officers couldn't find any tire tracks leading to the water.
