IOWA CITY - The University of Iowa named four people to join Athletics Director Gary Barta in finding the school’s next men’s basketball coach.

The five-member committee consists of:

* Gary Barta, Director of Athletics
* Fred Mims, Associate Athletics Director
* Betsy Altmaier, Faculty Athletic Representative
* Ellie Herman, Chair of the Presidential Committee on Athletics
* Bobby Hansen, Former Basketball Student-Athlete

Mims and Altmaier were on the last search that resulted in Todd Lickliter’s hiring in 2007. Herman’s predecessor on the Presidential Committee on Athletics, Charles Lynch, served on that committee as well.

Iowa had two former men’s basketball players — B.J. Armstrong and G. Joseph Reddington — on the last search. Hansen, like Armstrong, won an NBA title with the Chicago Bulls. He currently is the color radio analyst for Iowa men’s basketball.
