Authorities Talk Down Suicidal Man from St. Luke’s Parking Ramp

CEDAR RAPIDS - It took authorities more than six hours to talk down a suicidal man at the top of the St. Luke’s parking ramp Friday night.

Security officials from St. Luke’s Hospital contacted authorities at around 2:47 p.m. about a 57-year-old man who they said might try to kill himself.

Cedar Rapids police and St. Luke’s personnel were able to resolve the incident by 9 p.m. The man has been admitted to St. Luke’s Hospital.
