CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) — The U.S. Attorney's office says two more men linked to a large-scale methamphetamine ring in the Waterloo area have entered guilty pleas in federal court in Cedar Rapids.
The office says 38-year-old Thomas Blitsch of Waterloo and 24-year-old Kyle Geary of Oelwein were convicted Friday of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
They are the 11th and 12th defendants to enter guilty pleas to charges stemming from a ring that allegedly operated from 2005 to 2009.
Blitsch admitted he conspired to distribute more than three pounds of the drug, while Geary admitted he was involved in the distribution of more than 10 pounds of methamphetamine..
The two face possible penalties ranging from 10 years to life in prison, plus fines of up to $4 million.
