LAKE MILLS (AP) - The school board in Lake Mills has scheduled a termination hearing for girls basketball coach Mark Van Gorkom, who is accused of sending inappropriate text messages to team members.

The hearing will be held in closed session Saturday morning at Lake Mills High School, but since any formal decision must be made in open session, Superintendent Daryl Sherman says another meeting will probably be scheduled for next week.

Sherman says the school is proceeding with the termination based on evidence gathered by the district.

Lake Mills Police Chief Dave Thomas says no criminal charges have been filed against Van Gorkom, who is in his seventh year as the Lake Mills head coach.
