Man Robbed, Threatened in Iowa City Home Invasion

IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man told police he was robbed at gunpoint in his apartment Thursday night. Police responded to 406 S. Gilbert St. Apt. 922 at 10:48 p.m. after an adult man reported that a man with a bandanna on his face entered his apartment and kicked down his bedroom door. The man pointed a pistol at the victim and ordered him to turn over his valuables, according to police. The man threated to kill the victim if the victim called for help. The suspect fled with money and several electronic items, police said. The victim was not hurt. The suspect is described as a black male, more than 6 feet tall and 250 pounds, police said. He was wearing red clothing and possibly jeans. Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect. Call (319) 358-8477.
