Harkin Announces Grants to Four Iowa Airports

CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) - U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin says four Iowa airports will receive a total of more than $6.9 million federal funding from the Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration for improvement projects.
The largest grant that Harkin announced Thursday in Washington was to Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids, which will receive more than $5.3 million for runway rehabilitation.
Des Moines International Airport was awarded a grant of $855,000 to construct a runway to separate commercial and general air traffic.
Clinton Municipal Airport was awarded $755,527, while Perry Municipal Airport got $61,700 to analyze potential changes for future growth.
