CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) - Two men from Waterloo have been convicted of drug charges in connection with a methamphetamine conspiracy in the Iowa city.

The U.S. Attorney's Office Northern District of Iowa says in a news release Thursday that Jamie Smith, 29, and Oscar Ruiz, 30, were convicted of drug conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The office says the men are the eighth and ninth defendants to plead guilty to charges involving the drug conspiracy.

Prosecutors say the men pleaded guilty in a Cedar Rapids federal court on Wednesday.

Sentencing has not yet been set. Prosecutors say the men face sentences of at least 10 years in prison, a $4,000,000 fine and up to life on supervised release after any prison time.
