NORTH LIBERTY - A crash along Interstate 380 slowed traffic during the morning commute today.

A car rolled into the ditch around 7:40 a.m. just north of the Iowa River bridge, causing an hourlong traffic jam in the southbound lanes.

One lane was shut down and vehicles were bumper-to-bumper for more than three miles at times. A tow truck pulled the mangled car away around 8:45 a.m.

Authorities have not said whether anyone was hurt in the crash. A trooper who answered at the Iowa State Patrol district office in Cedar Rapids said he had no information.
