IOWA CITY — Police have charged a 32-year-old woman from Iowa City after authorities said she stabbed a man Saturday night.

Officers were called to a residence in the 3500 block of Shamrock Place, around 8:15 p.m. and found a man with a stab wound to the abdomen.

Police say Kimberly Hudson, 32, and the man were in an argument when she pushed him against the wall causing a cut on his forehead and a bloody nose.

Hudson told police she then went into the kitchen and got the biggest knife she had out of the sink and returned waving the knife in front on her to where the man sitting. According to Hudson the man stood up from the couch and ran into the knife, and she fled the scene.

The man, who was not named in police reports, had a puncture wound that required hospitalization.

Hudson was charged with domestic abuse assault with intent and displaying a weapon, and remains in the Johnson County Jail Sunday on a $15,000 cash-only bond.
