DUBUQUE - If you often visit loved ones in the hospital, you may be very familiar with the hospital gift shop. But what you may not know is at Finley Hospital in Dubuque all the profits made in the gift shop are donated back to the hospital.
Volunteers from the Sunshine Circle run the shop and give every cent to hospital needs.
Recently the group spent the profits on medicine management boxes.
Those help patients who take a lot of medications better organize their daily doses.
"You feel good knowing you are helping people who are less fortunate because they are having some medical difficulties," said Susie Williams, Sunshine Club.
The sunshine group donated more than $58,000 to Finley hospital in 2009.
