LINN COUNTY – Plenty of people complain about the cold weather, but some people smile when they see the snow.
At first glance, Morgan Creek Park looks abandoned and barren. Look closer, and you'll find a few people peaking through the blanket of snow.
"It takes a good coat, a good pair of boots and a little bit of determination to get out the door. But, once you get out here, it's quite fun and peaceful,” Linn County Conservation Assistant Resource Manager Shaun Reilly said.
Roger Cassill refuses to let a little snow get in the way of his exercise.
"I come here every day rain or shine...all summer and all winter, Cassill said.
His two dogs don't seem to mind, either. "They love it. They can't wait every day and they get very excited about it,” he said.
Crews smooth out the ski and walking trails to make the park even more appealing for winter weather fans.
"I get more compliments about what we do as far as grooming ski trails than just about anything else we do," Reilly said.
However, even avid skiers like Bradley Van Waus can get sick of the snow after awhile.
"In about two weeks, I'll be ready for it to be over," Van Waus said.
Whether you consider this winter's wrath or a winter wonderland, snow has been on the ground for about two months now. It doesn’t look like it’s going to melt away anytime soon.
