Crash Damages Linn County Deputy's Patrol Car

A Linn County Sheriff’s deputy’s patrol car was damaged when it was struck by a car Monday morning.

It happened around 7:40 a.m. on Mount Vernon Road just east of Highway 13. No one was injured, and both vehicles sustained only minor damage.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the deputy pulled over onto the shoulder to check on a car that had gone into the ditch. A westbound vehicle veered onto the shoulder and the driver lost control of her car. It spun around and hit the parked patrol car.

Names of those involved were not immediately released.
