Fire Damages Home in Lone Tree

LONE TREE – A father and his child were able to escape a fire that ultimately destroyed their home late Saturday morning.

Lone Tree and Hills firefighters arrived at 117 Kirkpatrick St. shortly after 11:30 a.m. to a fully engulfed structure. Firefighters were battling dangerously low temperatures as well as flames for three hours.

Lone Tree Fire Chief Steve Flake said the fire was still under investigation, but said that faulty utilities might have been a factor in the start of the fire.

Red Cross was also at the fire to help the family find food and shelter following the loss of their home.
