ROCK RAPIDS (AP) - A northwest Iowa man has been accused of spying on women through peepholes in bathrooms of the hospital where he worked.

John Elias, 55, of George is charged with invasion of privacy, third-degree theft and tampering with evidence.

Officials with the Lyon County sheriff's office say the peepholes were discovered in the ducts or bathroom vents at the Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids.

Officials say a camera was set up to catch the suspect.

They say Elias found the camera, took it and tried to destroy it. The camera was later recovered.

Elias was arrested last week and was released from jail after posting bond. A telephone message left for Elias Friday afternoon was not
immediately returned.
