DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police say a routine traffic stop turned into a high-speed chase along a street just north of downtown.

Officers said the driver of a car refused to pull over Wednesday afternoon and drove down 6th Ave. at speeds that neared 100 mph.

The man eventually pulled over the vehicle at a corner, jumped out and ran from police.

Police said Wednesday evening they were still looking for the driver and a passenger.
