CORALVILLE - An Iowa City man was arrested Monday for assisting in an October robbery at the Coralville Wal-mart.

David Stratton, 42, was charged with two counts of being an accessory to a felony for driving the getaway vehicle for Calvin Pearson, 42, after Pearson robbed an elderly couple, according to police.

Police said the couple was robbed by Pearson after he helped them load their items into their car on Oct. 16.

Pearson then got into the back seat of the car and placed a motel room key car to the man’s throat, pretending it was a knife, and demanded the man hand over his wallet, and the woman her purse, according to police.

Pearson was arrested in November on second-degree robbery, and he remains in the Marshall County Jail Tuesday on a 10,000 cash-only bond.
Stratton remains in the Johnson County Jail Tuesday on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
