NORWAY - Crews from several fire departments spent Sunday evening on the scene of a farm fire near Norway. Shortly before four o'clock officials responded to the fire at the Volesky Farm located along 29th Avenue just south of Norway, near the Benton County/Iowa County border.

Justin Volesky and his wife were away from home celebrating Christmas when a neighbor called telling them their barn was on fire.

Volesky said the fire killed all of his sows and destroyed one of his buildings. However, he said they were able to rescue some of the hogs in an adjacent building.

A cause for the fire was still under investigation as of Sunday night.
