CEDAR RAPIDS — An investigation is underway after police responded to a shooting in Cedar Rapids. Police say no one was injured in the shooting that happened around 6:15 Saturday evening.
It happened in a parking lot at 1834 First Avenue Northeast. According to reports on the scene, residents at nearby apartments could hear a loud argument in the parking lot at around 6:15 p.m. Neighbors called 911 after one man pulled a hand gun and fired it twice at the feet of another to end the dispute. The gunman then fled the scene on foot.
Officers spent Saturday evening searching for shell casings in the area of the shooting. Police initially detained three or four potential suspects at the 1800 block of First Avenue East, but officials would not say if any arrests had been made.
More details are expected to be released sometime Sunday.
