Man Sentenced in Shooting of Former Girlfriend

DUBUQUE (AP) - A 51-year-old man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for shooting his former girlfriend at her home south of Dundee.

Robert Krogmann received the maximum sentence for attempted murder and willful injury in the shooting of 49-year-old Jean Smith.

She was shot in her stomach, arm and spine on March 13.

A Dubuque County jury found Krogmann guilty last month. A judge has ordered the sentences be served consecutively.
