IOWA CITY - An Iowa City woman is in jail for allegedly slashing a woman’s tires and trying to stab her with the knife.
Police say they arrived at residence on Aster Ave. around 12 p.m. Sunday to find Tiona Woods, 21, of Iowa City, fighting with another woman.
An officer warned Woods to not have contact the woman anymore, but an hour later Woods went back to the residence.
Police said the woman told officers Woods came to her residence and slashed two tires and told the woman’s son to go inside to get his mother. Soon after, police said Woods attempted to stab the woman with a knife and bit her arm and chest.
Woods is charged with assault with intent to inflict serious injury, trespassing, third-degree harassment, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Police said a knife was found at the scene and said Woods admitted to police that she told the woman’s son to get his mother while she was cutting the tires.
According to Johnson County District Court documents, a no contact order against the woman was ordered Monday morning.
