Man Seriously Injured After Assault in Waterloo

WATERLOO - One man is in critical condition and another is in jail after an early morning assault in Waterloo.

Police tell KCRG.com they were called to a residence at 1009 Thorndale Avenue at around 1:50 Sunday morning after a receiving a report of harassment. When police arrived on the scene, they found that a man had been seriously injured.

The victim is in critical condition at University Hospitals in Iowa City, the extent of his injuries is not known. Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.

Police arrested Joseph Jeffery Santee, 30, of Waterloo, in connection with the alleged assault. He has been charged with willful injury, a class C felony.
