Two Whirlpool Executives Promoted

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Appliance maker Whirlpool has announced the appointments of two divisional presidents and the resignation of a third.

The Benton Harbor, Michigan, -based company has promoted Michael Todman to president of Whirlpool North America.

He replaces David Swift, who resigned from the position as well as from the company's board of directors.

Todman previously served as president of Whirlpool International.

His replacement at that position is Paulo Periquito, formerly president of Whirlpool Latin America.

Whirlpool says Swift resigned to pursue other interests.

Swift played a major leadership role in overseeing the company's integration of the former Maytag Corporation in Iowa.
