CEDAR RAPIDS - Mediacom is fighting to keep two networks from going black in eastern Iowa. Mediacom's deal with Sinclair broadcasting to show KGAN and KFXA expires at the end of this year.

In 2007, a similar situation caused Mediacom subscribers to lose those same two Sinclair stations for a time. This time, Iowa's largest cable provider is asking the Federal Communications Commission to stop Sinclair from blocking CBS and FOX programs.

The two sides have been negotiating for a new deal since April.
