Man Accused of Robbery, Shooting Police Officer Makes First Court Appearance

DUBUQUE - One of the two men facing charges for shooting a Dubuque police officer made his initial court appearance Saturday morning.

Eddie Adams, 46, appeared before a judge in the Dubuque County jail. Adams has been charged with attempted murder, first-degree robbery and unauthorized possession of an offensive weapon. Adams is accused of shooting Dubuque police Lieutenant Scott Baxter on Thursday.

Adam's bond was set at $500,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 14th.

The other defendant is Adams' father, Eddie Chest, 71, who remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
