IOWA CITY - Police are holding a teenager as a material witness to an Iowa City homicide.

Justin Marshall, 19, is in the Johnson County Jail on a $100,000 dollar cash bond.

Police want information from Marshall about the homicide of John Versypt. The Illinois man died last month from a gunshot to the head.

It happened at the Broadway Condominiums in southeast Iowa City. Residents found his body in a hallway next to a gun that investigators believe his killer used.

The 64-year-old Versypt owned condos there and was doing maintenance work.
