COLUMBUS JUNCTION (AP) - The Iowa State Patrol says a one-vehicle crash near Columbus Junction has left two people dead and a third person injured.
The patrol says Jacob Haines, 22, of Mt. Pleasant and Darby Gilbert, 17, of Libertyville died in the crash Saturday evening. Kyle Allen, a 19-year-old passenger from Sperry, was transported by air ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals.
Authorities say Haines was driving a Ford Mustang southbound on W66 when he lost control of the vehicle. The car went into a ditch, hit a culvert at 115th Street and ran into a barn.
