Kirsten Running-Marquardt Wins House District 33

LINN COUNTY - The unnoficial results are in, and Kirsten Running-Marquardt wins the seat in a landslide.
More than 75% of voters in House District 33 cast a ballot for the Democrat, making an easy defeat of Republican Joshua Thurston.
The House District 33 seat covers downtown and southwest Cedar Rapids.
Running-Marquardt will replace Democrat Dick Taylor who retired from the legislature.
Here's a breakdown of the vote:
1,935 of 20,472 registered voters actually voted, that represents 9.45%
1,508 for Running-Marquardt
420 for Thurston
