GUTTENBERG - The discovery of more human remains has stopped work at a Guttenberg hospital construction site.

Tuesday workers found two more sets of bones from what appears to be a burial ground. They've now uncovered possibly three sets of human remains in that area.

A spokesperson with the USDA says the hospital project is on hold. Investigators recently put this yellow crime scene tape around the area where they've been digging.

Last week we told you about this skull construction crews found here in this spot.

Tuesday, archaeologists found two more sets of remains they say appear to be from some time in the mid 1800's.

They say they found square nails near the bones from the same time period. Now, those investigators are doing an intense field inspection searching for more bones and more answers.

Local police say they are not involved with this investigation, despite the yellow tape, it is not a crime scene. They say it appears the bones are very old, once buried here long ago.

You may be wondering why the USDA is involved: this is considered a rural hospital, that's why the USDA is loaning the hospital $15-million dollars for the project.
