Jones Park Clubhouse Reopens After Flood Renovations

By Daren Sukhram

CEDAR RAPIDS - The first flood damaged public building in Cedar Rapids reopened Thursday.

The Jones Park Clubhouse is now totally renovated and includes a variety of new features to make it function better and look better.

Flood Recovery Director Greg Eyerly says this building got completed first for a variety of reasons.

"It was pretty cut and dry what needed to be done here. It cost about $250,000 to renovate this. This is a good example of flood recovery. We can come back stronger than we were before."

The clubhouse will remain open throughout the winter for people to purchase clothing and other goods.

But, the golf course itself will not reopen until next Spring.
