New Details in East Dubuque Murder-Suicide

EAST DUBUQUE, ILL - A sheriff's report documents an East Dubuque man's deadly threat last year.
And investigators say Joe Graham, Jr. followed through on that threat Sunday by shooting and killing his step-mother and then himself.
In September Ruth Graham made this statement to authorities.
“Joseph came home (apparently high on something) asking his dad for money.”
When Joe Sr. refused his son's request, Joe Jr. reportedly said, "Go to hell and take your wife with you."
Ruth's report went on to say. "I listened to him say to his father he would shoot him, he would shoot everybody, starting with me, Ruth and then he would kill himself."
Little did anyone know that is what would play out six months later. After the initial threat the county put a restraining order on Joe Jr. to stay away from Ruth and the home on West Heller Drive.
Jo Daviess County Sheriff, Leo Hefel said, "She sought an emergency order of protection back in October and that lasted for a period of two weeks."
When the order expired, deputies say Ruth chose not to renew it.
Family members say funeral services for Ruth and Joe Jr. are set for Thursday and Friday.
