DUQUBUE (AP) - Dubuque police say autopsy results are pending on an actress found dead in her apartment last month.

Martha Thimmesch, who appeared in several movies and television programs, was found dead on March 26. She was 46.

Police Lieutenant Neil Weiss says no foul play is suspected. He says investigators believe Thimmesch had been dead for some time because of the amount of mail. She was found after other residents called police.

Thimmesch appeared in “The Crossing Guard”, a 1995 movie written and directed by Sean Penn and starring Jack Nicholson. She was also television episodes of “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Homicide: Life on the Street”.

Weiss says Thimmesch had lived in Dubuque for several years.

Her father was Nicholas Thimmesch of Dubuque. He was a well-known journalist, columnist and author.
