Medical Marijuana Hearings Wrap-up

CEDAR RAPIDS - Iowa's pharmacy board heard final pleas Wednesday on legalizing medical marijuana.

The board held the last of four public forums in Council Bluffs.

The board heard from more than 80 people on both sides in the four hearings.

Supporters say it can help with several diseases in relieving pain and restoring appetite.

The board will now make a recommendation to state lawmakers on whether to allow doctors to prescribe pot legally.
