IOWA CITY (AP) - The trial of a former University of Iowa football player accused of sexual abuse has been delayed until next year.

Cedric Everson and former teammate Abe Satterfield are accused of assaulting a woman in a dormitory room in October 2007.

Everson's trial, which had been set to start on Monday in Johnson County District Court, has been rescheduled for July 12. His attorney, Leon Spies, requested Everson's trial be held after Satterfield's trial, which is set for April 12.

Both men are charged with second-degree sexual abuse. Satterfield faces an additional charge of third-degree sexual abuse.
