Five Men Break into Iowa City Apartment, Pepper-Spray Residents

IOWA CITY - Armed intruders pepper-sprayed people inside an apartment before robbing them during a home invasion late Wednesday.
Police went to an apartment in the the 500 block of Foster Rd. just after 10 p.m., when the incident was reported. Police say that five men wearing black clothing and ski masks forced their way into the residence, three of them displaying guns.
Two of the three people at the apartment were pepper-sprayed. One person who was pepper-sprayed was also struck in the head with an unknown object and sustained a minor injury, police said. Paramedics treated that person at the scene.
Police said the suspects took cash and electronics from the residence and fled the area.
