FAYETTE COUNTY - A grain delivery truck caused an estimated $5000 in damage when the driver failed to lower the auger after making a delivery.

Fayette County Sheriff's Office was called to K Avenue, just south of 150th Street.

Officers say that a 1999 Freightliner grain delivery truck, operated by Roger Miller, 54, of Cedar Falls, had made a feed delivery to a hog confinement facility on K Avenue. When he finished, he had left the auger up in the air over the truck and drove north on K Avenue.

The auger snagged some overhead wires causing them to break and cracked a power pole.

The sheriff's office says there was approximately $2000 damage to the truck and approximately $3000 to the wires and pole.
