Driver Killed after Semi Hits Cow in S. Iowa

CHARITON (AP) - Authorities say the driver of a semitrailer died after the rig hit a cow in southern Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened about 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday on Iowa Highway 14 between Chariton and Millerton.

The truck hit the cow, which was in the middle of the highway. The truck went into a ditch and then into a creek.

The driver's name was not immediately released.
