DUBUQUE - Transportation experts in Dubuque say the down economy is forcing more people to depend on city and county bus service.
The Regional Transit Authority is holding a series of meetings to find out what changes users say need to happen.
The RTA bus system serves people in Dubuque, Jackson and Delaware counties.
Some suggestions include extending bus service into the evening hours and on Sundays.
"For people to turn down a job that is in the evening is really hard because they can't get transportation and people are saying,'I'd like to work evenings, but I can't because I don't know how to get them," said Bridget Bartlett, E.C.I.A.
The Regional Transit Authority will hold two meetings next Tuesday. The first one is set for 10:00 a.m. at the Manchester Public Library.
The other meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Public Library in Dubuque.
