CEDAR RAPIDS - The clock is ticking closer to the November third city elections.

And in Cedar Rapids, three candidates have just four weeks to campaign for mayor. That includes appearing at a couple of mayoral forums today.

Tuesday's get together was at a natural talking point for flood recovery, the temporary Theatre Cedar Rapids facility.

Ron Corbett, Brian Fagan and P.T. Larson met with dozens of people from non-profits, with many of the questions geared toward the audience.

Corbett and Fagan did air some indirect criticisms about the other, but referred to each other as 'my opponent' instead of by name.

"I think what I bring to the table is action vs. Inaction. A lot of people I've talked to over the last few months are just tired of delays and out of state consultant reports," said Corbett.

"Certainly we've been through a lot over the past two years. We've come out of it by working together as a community and that is what I bring to the table," Fagan said.

"I'm not one looking for new revenue sources. I'm looking to cut the expenditure as a priority. And there's plenty we can do," Larson said.

If no candidate wins a majority of the vote on November 3rd, a run-off election is set for December.

KCRG-TV9 and the Gazette are sponsoring a mayoral forum next Tuesday, October 13th.

It begins at 7:00 p.m. at Coe College's Sinclair Auditorium. You're invited to attend, and submit questions.

We will broadcast the forum live on local 9.2 KCRG, and KCRG.com.
