WASHINGTON - Three people are in custody after a bank robbery in Washington. It happened at the West Chester Savings Bank on West Monroe Street just after noon Monday.

Witnesses told investigators a woman entered the store, displayed a handgun and ran off with an unknown amount of cash.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the woman jumped into a green car and took off with two other people. A vehicle matching that description was stopped a short time later at Highway 1 and 180th Street.

Law officers took three suspects into custody for questioning. There's no word on any charges against the three.
