DES MOINES (AP) - Governor Culver has declared all of Iowa a state disaster area as another major winter storm hits the state -- the second in less than a week.

Culver declared 60 counties as disaster areas after last weekend's ice and snow storm that knocked the power out to thousands of people.

Today, he added the other 39 counties as another storm brought blizzard conditions.

Culver also says he'll ask for a presidential declaration for 44 counties, which allows federal aid to flow to the state.

A blizzard warning is in effect into tomorrow for much of western and north-central Iowa. More than a foot of snow is expected to fall in parts of northwest Iowa.
