WASHINGTON (AP) - William Penn University has been targeted with $23 million in federal funds.

Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin on Friday announced the university located in Oskaloosa will receive a $11.5 million direct loan and $11.5 million in a conditional commitment that will be used to finance the Penn Activity Center and the Musco Technology Center.

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Community Facility Program.

Harkin said the funding will allow William Penn to continue to grow and educate the state's students and workforce.
